As with all the various Lego sets I've seen, the quality is excellent and the instructions are easy enough for him to follow without lots of adult help. He built both the car and the travel trailer in about an hour, and has since taken them apart to build them into different things and rebuilt them several times.The Lego hot dogs to go over the Lego campfire are a nice touch.
