I bought a "like new" item from Amazon and it came in the original box which was previously opened. The box contained 4 hub caps, and 4 metal rings. The rings fit onto the wings on the back of the hub caps. There were no instructions in my box. Perhaps, this was because I purchased a returned item? Either way I looked on the product page to see the way the metal rings fit into the hub caps.My issues were really unrelated to the product, and more related to my expectations. I have a 2007 Ford Focus and I expected to pop off the old ones, and pop on the new ones. Well on a 2007 Ford Focus the factory hub caps are held on by the wheel bolts. So I had to jack up the car 4 times, and take off the lug nuts, to remove the factory hub caps.Once that was done I put one of these new hub caps on with ease. However, from years of wear against the wheel where the factory spoke openings were there was rust. The new caps did not look great. So I popped off the new cap, and hit the rusted areas with a wire brush on my drill. I then cleaned the brake dust off, primed the area, and painted the rim flat black.Once it dried I finally got all 4 caps on. They are fragile, but if you're careful putting them on they feel adequate. They seem to hold nice and snug. I drove the car around 20 miles and they didn't fall off. So that's good.Overall, I'd recommend them. I like them better than other 15" hub caps that have faux chrome lug nuts.
